See, I told you there was a car park.

Keep going you're nearly there.  Unless you've started at Meeth, in which case, come on, get a move on, you've hardly started!

The ubiquitous small car park probably makes Petrockstow a better place to start/finish your ride than Meeth, which lacks a dedicated car park, but don't let that make you miss Meeth altogether.

Approaching Petrockstow from the north you ride past quarry workings and have to cross a couple of quarry access roads so take care but when you actually get to Petrockstow you have to negotiate a busier road on a junction and a bend.  If you've got kids with you, watch out for them here.

As you leave Petrockstow to head to Meeth you start off on the old platform and continue on the track bed but after a short while the footpath part of the Tarka Trail continues towards South Devon but the cycle track turns off to the right and you continue, winding through the woods on a purposed made, sealed surface, track to Meeth.  In your humble correspondent's opinion, it's one of the better parts of the whole trail.

The track descends from the old platform and heads off to Meeth.
